Lost in Prayer

I watch as the pastor finalizes his sermon and all the parents line up on the edge of their seats. The pastor raises his hands and loosely smiles at the Sunday regular crowd. Satisfied, he begins his prayer. "Dear Lord, let our children find prosperity . . . " A mom interrupts. "Please let my sweet son study hard and do well on his exams." Another mom chimes in. "Mine too!" Then two more moms follow and soon enough, no one can stanch the tide of prayers dedicated to children's studies. So the prayer ends just how it started. “Let our children find prosperity.”
