I've Got You

“Daddy’s home!” I cheered as I skipped along the deck of our pool to give him a hug. I loved how tall he was. However, due to our height difference, he didn’t see me as he cut the corner and knocked my non-swimming self right into the deep end. As I bobbed and sputtered, my mom shouted for him to rescue me. He reached down and easily plucked me out by my hands as he said “Sorry peanut, I didn’t see you there. I’ve got you.” I wasn’t worried for a second because of course he did. He still does.
