Fishy, Fishy

“We played Covid today.” He dipped his graham cracker in Nutella. I stopped with his milk half poured. “What’s that?” “It started as Fishy, Fishy.” I remembered the recess game where kid fish run across a field being chased by a tagging shark. “Then Alyssa said, ‘Let’s have the shark be Corona.’ And Dylan said, ‘When Corona tags you, you’re a germ and you spread it.’” “Did you get germed?” “Nah, I said I’d be a doctor. When I tagged you, you got a shot. Then you could ungerm people.” “Who won?” “I don’t know. We’re gonna play again tomorrow.”
